From photo to drawing
Here's what a few of our customers sent us, and what we drew for them.

Recent work
Drawn by a person, not a program
We work digitally, on tablets, but every portrait is drawn freehand. No filters, no tracing software and no AI. Just one of us, a stylus and your photo beside the screen.
You can see it in the finished piece:
We take real pride in that. A drawing made by a person carries the care that went into it.
Print it your way
Here are a few of our drawings at home with their families, printed and framed. Choose an A5, A4 or A3 file to suit a shelf, a nursery or the living room.

Gallery
Families, new babies, best friends, grandparents and the family dog. Tap any drawing to see it up close, and where you see "See the original photo", compare it with the photo we were sent.
At home
Our drawings, framed and hung by the families they were made for.

A clear, well-lit photo where you can see everyone's outline works best. It doesn't need to be professional. Some of our favourite drawings started as a quick phone snap.
Often, yes. Send the photos through with an enquiry and we'll let you know what's possible.
Of course. Dogs, cats and the occasional chicken are all welcome.
No, you'll receive a high-resolution digital file by email. That means no waiting for delivery, and you can print it as many times as you like: one for your wall and one for Nana. Any home printer or local print shop can print it at the size you ordered.
A smooth, heavy matte paper or art card shows the fine lines best. Most print shops can help you choose.
Whatever suits the moment: a family name and year, a date, a verse, a line from a song or a short message. We'll set it in a style that matches the drawing.
Really. We draw every line ourselves on our tablets, freehand, with your photo as our guide. That's the whole point of what we do.

About us
We're a husband and wife team from Auckland who have always loved to draw.
Art has been part of both our lives for as long as we can remember. My Moment in Line started when we began drawing our own family photos, and friends started asking for theirs.
Pete is an artist in his own right too, and sells his work under Studio Woods. Between the two of us, there's usually a drawing on the go somewhere in our house.
What we love most is the moment someone sees their drawing for the first time and recognises the people in it straight away, even without faces. A good line can say a lot.
